Pro Dock
Pro Dock extends a mobile productivity ecosystem into the fixed workspace, focusing on visual calm, intuitive interaction, and reliable performance. Rather than competing for attention on the desk, the design prioritises restraint, reducing visual clutter while remaining immediately understandable in use.
As part of a wider productivity system, Pro Dock reinforces a cohesive design language across mobile and desktop contexts, demonstrating how a shared philosophy can adapt to different modes of work.

Port Architecture
To reduce desk clutter and simplify the overall setup, the ports that needed regular access and those that were more likely to stay permanently connected were identified.

Improved User Experience
This allowed the power and lower-interaction ports to be moved into a secondary hub mounted beneath the desk, allowing the main dock to stay cleaner, calmer, and more focused on everyday use.

Adaptable Design
Pro Dock can quickly switch between laptop and tablet modes, making it easier to adapt to different setups throughout the day. A big part of the challenge was keeping the interaction simple, durable, and satisfying to use, so moving parts were kept to a minimum, using the flexibility of the material itself alongside locking magnets to create the transition.

Outcome
The final design brought docking, charging, cable management, and device support into a cleaner and more adaptable workspace setup. By separating permanent connections from the ports used every day, Pro Dock helped reduce desk clutter while making it easier to move between laptop and tablet workflows throughout the day. The result was a product that felt simple, intuitive, and flexible to use, while fitting naturally into the wider ZAGG ecosystem.
